Dwarves
At home in mountains, these
stout stonemasters have been active throughout the history of Luz Verhaal
since their very making. They are resistant to cold and heat especially,
and their stubborn will prevents them form falling victim to mind-controlling
magics.
Appearance:
Dwarves are about 4 to 4-1/2 feet when full grown. They are features
are gruff and their hair tends to be wild. Men grow long thick beards
and tend to decorate them in way to danote their status. They have tree-trunk
like arms. Their are never of lithe build, but tend to be either fat
or muscular.
Natural Attributes:
Dwarves are an ancient race that some believe to be created from the
very stone they shape. They came into being shortly after the Elven
races were sundered, and have kept a stable population since then.
Dwarves are master stone shapers and no one can match their skill at
metal-making. Dwarven metal tends to be resistant to almost damage,
heat as well, and even some of the greater magics.
Extra Bits of Info:
~Dwarves age slower than Humans do, reaching maturity at 45.
~They live for 400-450 years
~For lack of nightvision, Dwarves can use their awesome sense of touch
to detect all that is around them
Centuar
These respectful horse-humanoid
beings are only common to the plains of Vlorgan. Even there they are
quite small in numbers. But no worries, these peaceful free spirits
love company, just don't ride them!
Appearance
Centaurs have darker skin and ordorn themselves in all types of clothing
ranging from headdresses to whole "suit" (just think Native
Americans). They may also wear forms of make-up as a symbol of fertility,
war or marriage. Centaurs are around seven to nine feet when fully mature.
Natural Attributes
Centaurs have a rich culture that is based solely on Nature as a whole.
Due to a lack of written language in most places, the language and dialect
they speak varies depending on their region and clan. They are very
skilled mediums (contactors of spirits) and have been known to sway
the forced of nature to protect them and guide them. Centaurs are also
resilient and have an iron will that protects them from the forces of
evil. They can live about 2 to 3 times as long as a Human.
Extra Bits of Information:
~Centaurs are very respectful and the main way to get along with them
is to be respectful. DO NOT be rude or selfish and most of all, DO NOT
MAKE FUN OF THEM.
~I know it may seem amusing to ride a Centaur but don't try to, they
we'll get REALLY MAD. Added to that, don't even talk about it either;
that also annoys them. In fact, you'll never get to ride a Centaur unless
dire need calls upon it and (of course) if you are friends with the
Centaur.
Giansza
The Giansza are a race of
winged people that resemble angels. The live mainly in floating cities
above an icy dormant volcano in Lyténséi
Appearance:
Giansza are a smaller race, shorter on average than humans. They have
feathery wings which vary Giansza-to-Giansza in colour and size. Their
skin tone is usually somewhat dark, although this can vary as well.
Their hair and eye colour is usually one dark, one light, and comes
only in colours not natural in humans.
Natural Attributes:
Giansza, obviously, can fly. Also, they have a higher tolerance to cold
and a lower tolerance to heat due to the altitude at which they live.
They are strong physically, but they have less ability in most magics.
Despite that, they are highly resistant to magic being used against
them.
Also, they have adapted to breath the thinner air up high, but can quickly
switch between mountain top and low ground enviroments.
Extra bits of Information:
Most of the Giansza's cities are magical floating cities above the tall
dormand volcanos of Lyténséi. They offer a sort of air-ferry up to
a few lower cities on the backs of a large timid flying animals called
a Dorsi. (The Dorsi somewhat resemble long, fluffy dragons.)
Now, there are a few Giansza cities located on ground lower in the mountains,
as they have realized the need for such. They're a very friendly people,
but somewhat proud quick to be offended. (Note: this does not mean that
they are arrogant, although some are)
Giants
These warm-hearted barbarians
are native to land north East of the Stromm Badlands. They are large,
cumbersome but rather unknown of. These beings are likely to offer a
warm house with food any day.
Appearance
Giants are, well, Giant. They are usually 2 - 3 times the size of a
Human their age. Excluding that, they appear very human-like and may,
in fact, be closely related to them. They are generally either fat or
musclar depending on the person, age and gender. Most Giants cloth themselves
in the skins of what they hunt, be it bears, buffalo or deer. There
skin and eye colour is usually that of a human.
Natural Attributes
Giants are equally adept at magic as Humans are, but tend to go for
roles depending on strength and speed. They share most weaknesses with
Humans, except that they are more resistance to cold and have been known
to revive quite quickly after being frozen alive. Giants are known for
their ability to survive harsh conditions; most giants can swim, hunt
and build their own homes from nothing. To back this up, Giants are
very determined and can take A LOT of physical labour.
Extra Bits of Information:
~Giants live in large igloos during the winter and standard wooden homes
during the summer
~Giants can lift things several times their own weight. This is like
a human lifting a small car.
~They has been a group of Giants frozen for 140 years in the northernmost
reach of their land. They awoke perfectly fine one warm summer.
~Most Giantin Clans are nomadic
Humans
Humans live in the part
of Luz Verhaal called En'Treilldêi. They are ambitiously expanding
and mingle freely within the other races.
You Know the appearance and
natural Attributes so I'm not even going to bother writing this up.
Extra bits of Information:
The humans on the planet are usually open about mingling with other
races, even with those who dislike eachother. uh... Yeah.
Liminiad
The Liminiad can live and
breath under water, but they can also live on land. They inhabit a part
of the world called Myhdiea
Appearance:
Liminiad appear to be humans at first glance, but upon closer inspection
there are things about them that are definitely not human.
They have webbed toes and fingers, and they have naturally muscular
legs. Behind their ears, brushing just out of view, are a set of gills.
The gills are tinged blue to green on the women and red to orange on
the men. Their hair is also tinged in those colors and usually dark.
Their eyes are large and always, always, always a bright grey-white.
Their teeth are sharper than human teeth, some even coming to a razor
sharp point.
Natural Attributes
The first and most obvious of these is that Liminad are naturally excellent
swimmers. They are prone to damage from fires and dry heat, and dehydrate
quickly.
Extra bits of Information
Liminiad are quite suspicious people, most of them living in cities
completely submerged and killing tresspassers. However, their few above
ground cities are very hospitible; just don't go around lighting fires.
Vervalsing
Said to have come from a
mix of humans, elves, and some not entirely human-istic race, Vervalsing
have the unique ability to transform into dragons.
Physical Appearance
Vervalsing look a bit like a cross between elves and humans. They are
usually of a naturally light complexion, and hair colours that would
be odd for a human. They also have slitted eyes, like their dragon counterparts.
Physical Attributes
Vervalsing are usually a lot stronger than they look. They have a lot
of endurance (as it takes much energy to transform) and an affinity
with magics. Now, this doesn't mean that all Vervalsing use magic; it
just means that if they did, they'd be good at it.
Other Info
Vervalsing dragons, what this race transforms into, vary in appearance
as dragons themselves. (see articles)
There are some differences, though. A Vervalsing dragon cannot breath
fire or any other element, although they have a resistance to it in
that form.
They can take more damage in dragon form, but usually revert back to
normal if they take too much damage. However there have been cases where
a vervalsing was killed in dragon form. It is said that there is a large
chance that they, once dead, will revive.
