Luz Verhaal A fantasy roleplay site where you can explore a rich world full of fun and adventure. |
| Shide and Demons This belief system is popular among most of the high fae races, as well as some others. In the beginning of time, before life was created, there were two forces, a force of ultimate evil and a force of ultimate good. The evil were known as Demons, and terrorized the good, which were known as Shide.
Both had innate powers, immortality, and control and effect over the world. Each created, through wars and the need to create troops lower down, many of the races of Luz Verhaal.
Each dwindled throughout wars, but there exist churches of either Shide belief or Demonic belief, many races choosing their sides.
Elemental Creation
Birth, Life and Death. The
most widely believed Creation Story on Luz Verhaal.
First there was Birth, a lonely
spark floating in the darkness. It lay there, stagnant, no fire and
no fear.
Then there was Death, threatening to swallow the spark whole. The spark
ran, winds of the speed it moved starting fire.
Finally, Life, the fire that sprung from the spark. It burned as a median
between the two, with the powers of birth and destruction in its hands.
But the fire felt fear at its powers and chose to keep running from
death's smothering grip. Soon, it came upon another spark, dying in
the shadows. It spread the fire to it, starting a new fire. Starting
a new life.
And so it began.
And from this new life came many great spirits lesser in power to the
first three. They chose to manifest themselves in various guises within
existence.
And so it was formed by these lesser spirits, existence. And at the
time, it was no more than a barren stretch of land, sea and sky. And
so Birth, Life and Death came upon it.
Birth created the first lifeforms, plants, animals and the First Race.
Life gave these creations the ability to sustain themselves and exist
in physical form.
And Death, being a selfish spirit, stole each Lifeforms' soul, or lifeforce,
when it chose that they should no longer live. And so time was wrought
from this magnifient change.
The Lesser Spirits fashioned existece to their liking. Some perferring
it to be a Utopia of eternal peace, while other chose it to be a variety
of harshnesses and peace, so as to help the New Life cope with existence.
But there were others who chose otherwise. They desired to rule these
New Life Forms under fear, and so they ran from them, in fear of Death.
All those who desire the Utopia came under the rule of Birth, those
of a Equal Existence came under the rule of Life and the last group
who selfishly desired existence to themselves came under rule of Death.
And so it was, for many ages, beyond the comprehension of any race to
come.
