Avatars

Avatars are beings that were blessed with powers by either an Elben, High Fae, Demon or any of the combination, which is very uncommon. The blessing usually comes before birth. Descendants of Avatars are also graced with the same powers, although they deminish if not bred with another Avatar.
Appearance: 
 
Avatars all vary in appearance, depending on what creature they are and what they were blessed by. But all have a symbol or scar on their body that seperates them from others of their kind. 
 
Elben Avatars tend to have a feather symbol somewhere on the body. They are also VERY beautiful, and always catch the attention of those nearby. 
 
Fae Avatars tend to have a star symbol on their body somewhere. They are also beautiful and have deep sparkling eyes. 
 
Demonic Avatars tend to have battle-like scars or blood stains somewhere on their body. They can be either beautiful but dark of complexion or ugly and beastlike. 
 
 
Natural Attributes: 
 
Avatars can have a varying amount of powers, all based on how much power the Demon, Fae or Elben put into them. 
 
The powers given to them tend to reflect those that blessed them. 
 
Extra Bits of Info: 
 
~Avatars are resistant to the powers of those they are blessed and their kin 
~They are immortal 
~They can shed their physical form and create a new one, but if killed, they can not reform



Elbe and Half-Elben

The Elben are an immortal race of Elves that were blessed by Gods. Therefore, they are stronger and faster than most races. The live in large trees over a bug, infested swamp in Rok'thaxa.
Appearance 
 
Comparing the Elben to other Elves is like comparing Immortals to Humans; not only are they more powerful in a certain sense, but they are naturally beautiful. They tend to glow with a soft light, much like the Immortals. 
 
Contrary to popular belief, Elben do have wings. Although they are only visible to their own kind, beings that are truly evil and by those who can see the dead. 
 
Natural Attributes 
 
Elben are semi-powerful beings that are slightly stronger than the average Elf and just as fast and lithe. They gain powers over the year. These powers along with their immortality is usually called the Holy Gift, in opposition to the Vampires' Dark Gift.  
 
Although they are immortal, Elben CAN die. But to back this up, they are resistant to magic, damage and the powers of evil. They also heal more quickly. 
 
All Elben can fly using their wings (well duh), but in flight, they are invisible to all except those who can see the dead. This happens because when they take flight, their body disinegrates into tiny particles of light and then fades. Their body then teleports to the spot that they land at (meaning where the land AND fold their wings) and reforms from the light particles. If an Elben is in flight for too long, they may not be able to reform. Elben can also open their wings partially in order to phase through matter. 
 
Extra Bits of Information: 
 
~The eldest Elben is about as old as the oldest High Fae at 10 000 
~There are nine Elben clans that are talented with one apsect of magic or nature 
~Elben communicate by both a langauge of their own and the use of telepathy. 
~All Elben have these powers, regardless of age: 
-Glamour (can cast illusions over themselves and others so they appear like something else to other races) 
-The ability to see through Glamour spells, so they can indentify each other 
-Empathic and Telepathic Powers backed up by a mind barrier to block out any mind readers 
-The ability to see spirits, including the dead and each other in flight (which is why they see each other as winged) 
-Simple Teleporting and Telekinetic powers 
-Blessing others. This depends on how much power they have. The most powerful Elben have been known to give their "Chosen" powers that have lasted long into their descendants

The Half-Elben Sub Race: 
 
In the past few millenia, there has been an uprising of the Half-Elben which can either be the mix of Elben and Elves, Immortals or Humans. The mix of Elben and Elves or Immortals are called the High Half-Elben while the Human mix is called Low Half-Elben. 
 
Of High Half-Elben: 
 
High Half-Elben can vary between two appearances.  
 
One is of a more Elf-like appearance with a faint glow to them. They have equally adept senses as a normal Elben would but have other Elben powers. They are not immortal and live for about a few thousand years. However, they can chose when to die. 
 
The other is like an Elf/Human mix with an equally bright glow. This Halfbreed is of Immortal and Elben blood, so they too have immortality and are reincarnated if they die. Their senses are at least half as good as an Elben's and they have the other Elben abilities. 
 
Of Low Half-Elben: 
 
Low Half-Elben come in one appearance. They are similiar to the Immortal/Elbe Halfbreed but have a faded glow to them. All that they have is only half as good, their senses, powers, etc.  
 
Unlike High Half-Elben, Low Half-Elben can choose Human Death or Elben Immortality (yes, this part was inspired by LotRs). This choice can be prolonged and they can live for several millenia like High Half-Elben, but ultimately, a decision must be made.

Elementals

(For lack of a better description, think of the Avatar) 
The Elementals are a Human Subrace that were granted their powers by the Great Spirits of Nature. Legends say that their power are of mythological extent. They come in large groups, in order to protect it when the older of them dies. Their average life span is 200 years.

Appearance 
 
Elementals are human-like in appearance but they may have slight differences in hair and eye colour. Other than that, they have no noticeable differences. 
 
An Elemental at full power will assume the pure form of their Element. Usually the Elemental dies after using this much power. 
 
Elementals are considered immortal because they both, have an extended life span, and are reincarnated into their great grand children. This cycle will continue until the Elementals have restored their kingdom to it's former glory. 
 
Natural Attributes 
 
Elementals can bend and control one element: either Water, Fire, Stone, Wind, Light, Shadow and Spirituality (or Psychic/Psionic) or a combination of any.  
 
Mixed Breed Elementals may be able to control more elements, but the more elements they can inherit from ancestors, the less control they have over them. 
 
Although Elementals are resistant to the element that they control, they can die easier from their opposing element. 
 
Extra Bits of Information 
 
~Water Elementals (aka Hydrokinetics) can create large waves, and move water in ways deemed against the very Laws of Physics. 
 
~Fire Elementals (aka Pryokinetics) can create fire and allow it to grow and move in certain directions avoiding objects. They can also make things combust 
 
~Stone Elementals (aka Geokinetics) can move any solid, earth matter. The stronger the Geokinetic, the more heavy and larger objects they can move. 
 
~Wind Elementals (aka Aerokinetics) can move air. These Elementals can be very dangerous since they can create air vacuums on an enemy's head. Also they can move air and use it as a Psychokinesis force 
 
~Light Elementals (aka Photokinetics) can create and manipulate light (also enabling them to create light-based illusions or rendering people invisible). It may also act as concussive or explosive force. This may seem like a weak Elemental but it can be used to weaken or kill Vampires. 
 
~Dark Elementals (aka Umbrakinetics) can create forms of pure darkness and use it as a concussive force. They can also create weak black holes, create dark portals and crawl among shadows. As an added effect, they can see in pure darkness. 
 
~Spiritual Elementals (aka Telekinetics) can manipulate matter but not in the smae way as other Elementals. They can use Telepathy, Empathy, Teleportation and form Barriers. The descendants of burned out Spiritual Elementals may have at least one of these powers. They can also scry and use retrocognition and precognition. 
 
However each Elemental Race has a sub-element that it shares with another Elemental Race:

A lost Elemental Race were the Atmokinetics, or the Weather Elementals. They tend to be good at the Classical Elements. These innate powers could be triggered by intense emotional periods, such as the teenage years or when they are susectible (sp?) to random feelings of fear, anger and depression.





Elfin


The Elfin, also known as the Dark Elves because of their dark blue-grey complexion, inhabit a part of Luz Verhaal known as Nera. (See Full Text)
Appearance:  
They have a dark blue-grey complexion and large pointed ears. Their hair colour often matches their eye colour, as well, both coming in strange hues.  
 
Natural Attributes:  
Elfin are stronger and have greater endurance than most races. 
 
Extra bits of info:  
The Elfin People divide themselves into seven clans: 
Jhituo, who were healers and herbalists. 
Kersha, known for their fiery tempers and flaming passions. 
Ethal, who could speak with the birds. 
Litha, who found messages in the stars and moon. 
Sh'eati, who were the strongest swimmers. 
Mhalai, who were the peacemakers. 
Xeris, who were strongest in fighting and magic. 
Each clan has sub-clans, which usually bicker among themselves. Even the most peaceful, the Mhalai, have been known to have fatal feuds with another clan.





Elphin

The Elphin, also known as the Green Elves, inhabit the southern part of Xell, a northern continent. (See Full Text)
Appearance: 
The Elphin are called Green elves for good reason. Their skin, hair and eyes are tinted a shade of this colour and they blend in with their surroundings quite well. They are a shorter race, not being as small as dwarves, but not being as tall as humans. 
 
Natural Attributes:  
Elphin live longer than humans do, although not as long as the Elvyn. They are good at sneaking and stealth, as well as illusion-oriented magics. 
 
Extra Bits of Information:  
Like said earlier, they live in a forest. They're hard to find, as are their cities, and they're very good at "poofing".



Elvyn


Also known as the High Elves, the Elvyn are a reclusive race situated on a lonely island. It is said that this is the original race of all of the elves. (See Full Text)
Appearance:  
The Elvyn are usually of a pale complexion and appear extremely exotic and mystical. Their hair is also light, as are their eyes. Also, they are usually tall. 
 
Natural Attributes:  
Elvyn excell at magic that involves manipulating the enviroment (think telekenesis and such) but it is rare for one of them to master a more elemental type of magic. They are extremely fast, but can sustain less damage than humans can. 
 
Extra Bits of Information:  
The Elvyn live on a secluded island that no one knows the name to, and no one other than that race of elves has ever been on. They are extremely secretive about this.



Immortals

Immortals were a people of a Long Lost Kingdom that were granted immortality untainted by a Holy Deity. They will live on until their former kingdom is restored to glory.
Appearance 
 
Immortals have a very human appearance to them, save their soft glow and natural beauty. The True Immortal Lineage has Strawberry Blonde Hair with Bright Blue eyes.  
 
Natural Attributes 
 
Immortals have quick healing (for both themselves and others) capabilities and can not get sick. They are more resistant to nature's fury and the power of evil. Immortals are stronger, faster and more agile than Humans, allowing them to fit in almost any role. They can make good magic users because of their innate ability with magic. 
 
Bits of Information 
 
~An Immortal who has turned away from their orginal path will loose their immortality. 
~The length of the Immortals' lives lessen as they become more mixed with the blood of average Humans (or any other races, unless that race is immortal too). 
~An Immortal can die if all of it's blood is extracted.

Nymphs and Half-Nymphs

These nature beauties are graced with elemental powers thay can only be compared to those of the Elementals. Nymphs are bound to nature; they belong to nature and when they, die they return to it.
Appearance: 
 
Nymphs are alluring beautiful nature beings (not only women) that can shift between the physical and spiritual plane. They are medium height and of perfect shape. Nymphs resent clothes and don't like the idea of them, so, being comfortable with themselves, they live in their nature home naked. 
 
Natural Attributes: 
 
Nymphs are resistant to all that nature can throw at them as long as their home is free from pollution and demonic taint. 
 
They are also bound to their home (their birthplace and can not leave it), but being tied to a place has it's good points, they are all the more powerful and can sense all the going-ons within it. 
 
Extra Bits of Info: 
 
~Nymphs are ALWAYS naked (yes, I know you thought, you sick pervert. But worry not, I think everyone else has) 
~Nymphs can control the elements within their territory, enough to even comapre to the Elementals strength 
~Nymphs are immortal, resistant to disease and elements but are weak to the powers of evil 
~Being spirits they can not be controlled or possessed

Half-Nymphs: 
 
Half-Nymphs can be a mix of any race, but tend to be Elves mostly. They are also beautiful beyond compare and are attuned to nature. However, they are not tied to their birthplace and are not as clairvoyant as full Nymphs.  
 
Half-nymphs are resistant to Nature's Fury and can influence nature. They are uncontrollable and unpossosseable since they, like Nymphs, are the epitome of Nature, wild and free. 
 
They can be immortal, it all depends on which race they are mixed with. Sadly, they do not run nude like their Nymph-kin but wear clothing of the people from wherever they live.

Sidhe


Tall and hauntingly beautiful are the Sídhe. They were one of the first races.

Appearance: 
 
They are pale of complexion, white hair, white skin, silver eyes and tend to emit a eerie, pale glow. They seem to be slightly faded, as if they were ghosts. 
 
Natural Attributes: 
 
The Sídhe used to be of great power but they have been dwindling in numbers ever since they won their war with the Demons. At that time, they all held great powers that developed as they aged. Powerful enough to be considered Demigods.  
 
But when they fought with the Demons, they were forced to put a lot of their to defeat them. However, there were seven who had the entirety of their power still entact. These Sídhe moved on to be the mothers of the Elven Races. 
 
Extra Bits of Info: 
 
~Sídhe are immortal and can shed and create new forms for themselves 
~They have similiar powers to Fae and can even weave spells by using glamour 
~They are virtually undetectable, even by some of the more powerful clairvoyants 
~They themselves are clairvoyant 
~They live another realm and rarely venture from it, only to visit Elves, but rarely then 
~Those who were blessed by the Sídhe or are distant descandents from them are called Spirit-touched and have similiar powers only to varying degrees, they also tend to live A LOT longer if not immortal





Slyphs and half slyphs

These winged air-spirits are akin to Nymphs. They are beautiful winged, beings that can shift between a human-like form and air. They too are resistant to nature.
Appearance: 
 
Sylphs are beautfully sculpted with wide white wings. They are similiar to elves and nymphs and appearance, just a little less beautiful when compared to the latter. 
 
Natural Attributes: 
 
Sylphs can manipulate air movement and pressure, and therefore weather. They are bound to the skies and shall die if the ever touch land. 
 
They are resistant to nature and all it's power. They are uncontrollable and unpossessable lie Nymphs, but can be corrupted. 
 
Extra Bits of Info: 
 
~Slyphs are immortal and resistant to disease and such. 
~Slyphs, like Nymphs, are always naked

Half-Sylphs 
 
Most Half-sylphs are a mix between Slyphs and Air Elementals or Giansza. They have wings that they can not rid themselves of, and pake in comparison to Slyphs and their beauty. They are generally mortal (living for millenia) unless they are a cross between Slyph and some other immortal race. 
 
They have power over skies and wind, but to a lesser degree and area. They can touch land, but are more powerful the higher they fly. They can stand low pressure, breathe less air and drop several thousand feet without any affect to their bodies.





Undines and Half Undines

Undines are the water-spirits that work alongside Merfolk. They are very powerful and along with Sylphs can affect weather patterns. Generally peaceful, these powerful water guides can rise up and swallow single islands and shoreline towns.
Appearance: 
 
Undines are generally entirely in spirit form but may appear in merfolk-like form to converse with merpeople to common sailors. In this form they are similiar to merpeople but have fish-like tails that rotate from side to side rather than in an up and down motion. They are incredibly beautiful and can even lure a human to their deaths. 
 
Natural Attributes: 
 
Undines can control water movements, temperature and pressure and can even kill an unsuspecting victim by merely crushing them in the shallows.  
 
They are restricted to water only and would fade into the spirit realm if they ever left (which is considered death). However, if in a Physical Form their would experience the worst fate ever (in the eyes of an Undine) called "the Drying." Their body would dry up annd experience intense pain. They would then die of thurst. The worst fear of all Undine is to have their water source run dry. 
 
Undines have no need to feed, or drink but merely need to be in water to gain sustenance. If their water source is tainted, they may then become sick and corrupt. 
 
Extra Bits of Information: 
 
~Undines are immortal as long as they do not leave their water source 
~Undines voices can be heard only be heard above land in fogs where the air is very moist. They can also leave at these points, but only for a short while and not day after day, it most be in long intervals

Half-Undines 
 
Half-Undines are usually the product of Udines and Merfolk, however Nymph and Human pairings with Undines aren't very rare. These Hybrids are gifted with the ability to ascend to spirit form when beneath the waves and can even breathe water. Underwater is where they truly have power and can influence a lot more there. However, if their water source is polluted, their powers will appear demonic and evil.
